The South County Resource Center is a 501(c)3, non-profit agency that is a joint project between partnering organizations to bring social services to families living in the communities of Myrtle Creek, Tri-City, Riddle, Canyonville, Days Creek, Azalea, and Glendale. We are in great need of caring and committed community members to help build strong resources for South County children, adults and families. Administrative
General office assistance (answer phones, greet visitors, clerical work)
Assist with the development of brochures, newsletters, mailings, etc.
Fundraising
Help plan a fundraising event or help involve SCRC in a community event as a sponsor
Seek out and identify residents and local businesses that could be potential donors
Obtain gifts of in-kind donations for project specific needs
Promotion
Distribute brochures to community groups and to South County residents
Post flyers around town for fundraising events or special activities going on at SCRC
Network within community and spread the word about services offered at SCRC
Tutoring
Assist students working on completion of their GED or high school diploma in math and other subjects during the school week*
Child Care
Assist the Child Care Director in the nursery and work with children aged 6 weeks to 3 years*
Assist with overall maintenance and sanitation of the childcare center
Obtain donations of baby clothes, toys, blankets, etc. from the local community
Facility Maintenance
Assist with yard and lawn maintenance at the SCRC site
